Ok so unless you live under a rock you probably heard that Obama sang a little during a campaigning event. He sang Al Green’s famous hit “Let’s Stay Together” and while he sings for about ten seconds it is very obvious that he is an extremely talented singer. A lot of people are bashing Obama for wasting for singing. I heard some people even saying that we need a President not a performer, but I beg to differ. I may get on our President’s case at times about his ability to lead this country but I have nothing bad to say about his singing. In fact he has inspired me. Last election all people could talk about is how Simon and the rest of American Idol absolutely destroyed the presidential debates as far as ratings in the same time slot. So if they want better ratings why not fuse the two. American Idol meets Presidential debates. Steven Tyler, Simon Cowell (yes I know he’s not a judge anymore but his comments could add to things), and some other random judges (maybe some crazy political expert that likes to yell…. Michael Savage? .... I don’t know) and have the Presidents go through a number of various tasks including singing and debating, heck you could toss in Simon’s other show America’s got talent while your at it and have the nominee’s show off their talents. It would make great television and maybe just maybe Obama might stand a shot…. Or perhaps that isn’t such a good idea after all. Well at least Obama will have somewhere to go when he is forced out of his day job. Hey I would buy his CD (Obama sings the blues would be a good name).
